.... so he's our little shrimpboat! :-) So funny because he feels so big to us.... but he definitely is still little!
The doctor was really happy with his development, etc. She noted that he had really good neck strength, was happy with how he tracked objects and definitely listened to voices / turned toward people talking. His lungs, etc. also sounded good.
Colby has an umbilical hernia, which is fairly common in babies. The doc wasn't concerened, and said it should fix itself by 6-9 months or so. We will just watch to make sure it doesn't seem painful to him, or get blue / purple!
Then the dreaded part of the appointment came.... the immunizations! He got one oral vaccine (he liked that one - sucked it down just like he sucks down his vitamin D every day!). Then he got three shots in his legs! :-( He screamed soooo loud and was so unhappy about it. But he did great. I picked him up once she was done, and within a minute or two he was calmed down. Still sniffling and looking at me like "why did you let her do that?!". We went out to the waiting area and I fed him (basically just a snack), and he passed out. He's been out for two hours, and I'm guessing he'll be sleepy most of the day.
We go back to the doc in two months for his 4 month checkup!!!
Here are a couple pictures...
Colby waiting - so happy - for his appointment. He obviously didn't know what was coming!
Thinking this doctor's appointment maybe isn't worth smiling about after all!
