Weight loss Wednesday

Weight loss this week: 1.8lbs

Weight lost since Colby's birth: 12.8lbs
Weight loss methods used: breastfeeding, walks
Pounds until goal weight: 32.2

Well I went the right way this week!

I got cleared by my doc to exercise, etc. yesterday.... so I think we'll be getting a membership to the Y soon!  Colby and I hace had a busy week so our homemade meals have consisted of sandwiches.... but that should be changing soon!

I was going to post a pic of us at the zoo today but image uploading is down for maintenance...... So I'll try to make time to post pics tomorrow!

Cloth diapers

We decided to use cloth diapers on Colby.  From about 3 weeks on, he's been mainly in our cloth diapers, with occasional disposable when we're out for a LONG period of time, etc.

So far.... we're loving them!  We have found gDiapers and GroBaby / GroVia diapers to be the best fit on Colby.  While they add a little bit of bulk, it's not bad at all, and we're loving not having to buy packs of diapers each week!

Both of the diapers we've found to fit Colby have disposable inserts available as well.  This will be great for trips, etc., when we don't want to have to bring all the cloth inserts and do big loads of diaper laundry.  I currently wash diapers about every two days - but we've bought a couple extras lately in hopes that we can stretch that out to every 3 days.  I'm also working on making some diaper covers and cloth inserts at home!!!  This would be a VERY cheap alternative to the slightly spendy cloth diapers we've bought so far.  I LOVE the website diaperswappers.com - it's a great place to get gently used cloth diapers!!!

So far we've had a couple diapers leak - but just pee, and not that much.  NO blowouts (the only blowout he's had so far was in a disposable diaper and still wasn't that bad).  And NO diaper rash (you're supposed to have way less diaper rash with cloth than with disposable).

If you have any questions about cloth diapering or our experience so far, just let me know!!!!

Here are a couple pictures of Colby modeling his gDiapers.  I don't have any good pictures of him in the GroBaby diapers yet - I'll try to get some soon!

Colby obviously thinks he's pretty cute.....

First college football game

Colby went to a high school football game at 2 weeks old (it was super rainy!) - but got his first experience at a college game this past Saturday at 6 weeks old!

Unfortunately the Beavers lost (in double overtime).... but we had a great time - and Colby did amazing.  It was COLD... but not raining!

Practicing "the wave" before the game?

Snuggling with Grandma

A family of Beaver Believers!

So cute! (meant to get a pic of his whole outfit - it was adorable!)

Hangin' out - keeping mama warm.
And the dork in the background is my brother.....

Bundled up!

Smiles

Unintentional smile (while sleeping)

Colby has started smiling - intentional smiles - recently.  I think the first intentional smile I saw was 10/14... and I finally caught it on camera on 10/16 (the pictures above with the brown background).  He's been smiling in his sleep for a while, but now he looks at you and smiles, or smiles in response to something you say.  Sooooooo sweet!

He's smiled at me, Jimmy, and I think my brother Taylor got a smile out of him.  He smiles more and more each day.  I can't wait until he's doing it all the time - and we can get some more pictures.  It's pretty sweet though....... he's going from a newborn who just kinda lays around to a baby who interacts with you!

Colby's Tux!

We went to our friend's wedding last weekend and she had made Colby a "tuxedo" shirt for him to wear to the wedding.  It was PERFECT!  He was DEFINITELY the best dressed there (other than the bride, of course).  Here are some pictures we got.  The photographer took a couple photos of Colby with the bride, so I'll share those once we have them! :-)

Colby dressed and ready to par-tay!

This is NOT what I wore to the wedding! :-)

Colby being a stud - trying to impress all the single ladies!

Family photo - Colby is 5 weeks old!
(excuse the shiny sweaty mom and dad - a wedding with a 5 week old is A LOT of work!)

The whole family!

going the wrong way

Weight loss this week: 1.2lb gain :-(

Weight lost since Colby's birth: 11lbs
Weight loss methods used: breastfeeding, cooking meals at home, walks
Pounds until goal weight: 34

I'm going the wrong way.  I expected this..... but I'm still frustrated!  I only have myself to blame..... homemade cookies do not make for weightLOSS.

I need to focus.... but haven;t gotten into a routine with all our wonderful visitors.  But, as of this coming Monday we will be houseguest free for a while.  It;s been AWESOME to have everyone..... but will be nice to (hopefully) get into some sort of routine.

Hopefully that routine will include updating the blog more than once a week! ;-)

Weight loss "wednesday"

Once again I'm a day late.  Yesterday Colby and I spent the day picking up my mom from the train station and shopping with her!  She's here through the weekend!

Weight loss this week: 0 lbs
Weight lost since Colby's birth: 12.2lbs

Weight loss methods used: breastfeeding, cooking meals at home, a couple walks
Pounds until goal weight: 32.8

Another blah week.  Jimmy's parents came to town to visit this past weekend and we didn't eat a meal at home all weekend - and ate crap!  I was craving veggies by the end of the weekend!  So I'm taking it as a "win" that I didn't gain weight this week!  Hopefully we'll have a good number next week!

Our baby boy is one month old today!  Not sure how that happened.... time sure is flying by!
