How your baby's growing:
This week, your baby weighs almost 2 pounds (like a head of cauliflower) and is about 14 1/2 inches long with his legs extended. He's sleeping and waking at regular intervals, opening and closing his eyes, and perhaps even sucking his fingers. With more brain tissue developing, your baby's brain is very active now. While his lungs are still immature, they would be capable of functioning — with a lot of medical help — if he were to be born now. Chalk up any tiny rhythmic movements you may be feeling to a case of baby hiccups, which may be common from now on. Each episode usually lasts only a few moments, and they don't bother him, so just relax and enjoy the tickle.
I think I actually felt Colby having the hiccups last night. He was being super crazy and active as I was trying to fall asleep, and at one point it felt like little hiccups (very consistent movement). Didn't last too long, and of course stopped when I put Jimmy's hand on my belly!
We are so excited for this weekend - Jimmy's parents are going to be in Portland so we're headed there to see them, and I get to have pedicures with a good friend of mine, Karie, who is also pregnant (she's due in July!) who I haven't seen in forever. Then I'm doing a maternity photo shoot for her with her hubby. Yay!
Speaking of.... I did a maternity photo shoot for our good friends Will and Dawn this past weekend.... guess I'll have to share some of those photos! I'm working on a photography website / blog... so hopefully I'll have that up and running soon and can just share that.
Okay... time to sign off. Going to try to take a bath tonight before bed because I woke up with the WORST cramps I've ever had in my legs this morning - both legs. Supposedly a nice warm bath before bed should help.... we'll see!
